Objectives: Although East Asian herbal medicine (EAHM) contains a lot of wisdom itself, it is difficult to achieve quality
control that guarantees the effiacy of EAHM simply by evaluating the content of a single compound.
Methods: To overcome these problems, domestic and international strategies were reviewed and experimental models
were designed based on informatics and pharmacology.
Results: Studies have been conducted on some of the prescriptions and it was being evaluated to see how well the
models work.
Conclusion: By reflecting the syndromic and holistic perspective of EAHM, informatics and pharmacological
approaches can help improve quality control and create valuable evidence.
